Reverb 9/18/08

Due to Hurricane Ike, there was no Reverb on September 11. The following week, despite the fact that many people didn't have power, we had a prayer and share time. Most of our normal band was scattered across America, so Shaylor pulled together the Refresh band. They sang several songs, then we opened up the stage to anyone who wanted to share. Many people told of how close they grew to God during and following the storm. It is interesting how, myself included, God takes the back seat when everything is "normal." Even non-Christians turn (the phrase "OH MY GOD") to God in times of trouble. Shouldn't we, as Christians focus on God all the time?

Worship.

I lift my hands and my face to Jesus.

I cry because I feel the Holy Spirit within me,
because I feel Him changing me.

I cry because He sought me when I
was a stranger to Him, because He laid His hand
upon my family as we grieved
and send me glorious visions of Heaven

I sing to Him, best I can,
because God’s grace is something
I hardly understand,
but it’s something I have come to accept.

I worship because my story is His story,
and Christ sits upon the throne of my life.

I close my eyes because He is holy, and I am not,
because He is huge, and I am small,
because He is perfect, and I am dirty and sinful

And He loves me, There’s a line in the worship song,
Blessed Be Your Name,
that goes “Every blessing you pour out,
I’ll turn back to praise.”

And that’s why I worship,
Because it’s the only thing I can give
back to Him, my praises and love for
His unending blessings.
